About Mimi – the story behind the idea

Sometimes the best ideas are born in the most unusual places – in my case: at the swimming pool, amidst paddling pools, the smell of fries, and the never-ending "Maaaama!" echo.
It was summer, hot, and my baby was hungry. And me? I was in the changing room again. Not because I wanted to – but because there was no stylish swimwear in which I could breastfeed comfortably and confidently.

Two of my favorite bikinis had already given up: completely stretched out from constantly pulling down, pulling up, holding on, hoping no one was looking. And that's when I thought to myself:
Wait a minute... it's 2025. Why is this still an issue?

I nourish my child. My body performs great things every day. Why should I hide? Why should style disappear just because I'm feeding a little human right now?

And right there – between sunshine and wet towels – the idea for Mimi was born.

Swimwear for breastfeeding women that is so beautiful that no one recognizes at first glance what it can do.
Practical, thoughtful, and at the same time so elegant that you'd want to wear it every summer weekend.

Why "Mimi"?

The name Mimi is not just a brand name – it's a piece of our family history.
Ever since my daughter started to speak, she affectionately calls her breast milk "Mimi". 

Whenever I asked her how Mimi tasted, she replied: "like Mommy!" <3

This small, heartwarming moment became something bigger for me: a symbol of closeness, security, and the natural self-evidence of breastfeeding. And that's exactly what I wanted to capture in my brand.

Mimi stands for love. For motherhood. And for the beautiful, everyday miracle of nourishing a child – whether at home or elsewhere.

That's why the brand bears the name my daughter gave her breast milk.
Authentic, approachable, and full of heart.
