Guarayos Project
"Production costs in Europe are too high – you should produce in Asia!"
I heard this sentence more than once during the founding and financing phase of my start-up.
But for me, a completely different question immediately arose:
How can I sell products for mothers – and at the same time support a system where children have to work under questionable conditions?
For me, it was clear: that's out of the question.
I was told not to turn a blind eye to it.
But that's exactly what I couldn't and wouldn't do.
Because sometimes "not looking away" also means making a clear decision.
This conversation showed me something crucial:
I don't want to be part of the problem.
We all talk about making the world a little better.
Why should I then consciously take a step in the wrong direction?
Yes – production in Asia would have meant higher profits.
But at what cost?
That a child works for hours to produce products that I sell?
Not with me.
For me, it quickly became clear:
I am not only deciding against something –
but very consciously for something.
For children. For dignity. For responsibility.
Because in this world there are children who lack everything –
medical care, safety, a real chance at life.
So I asked myself the next question:
How can I help – and whom can I really trust?
Transparency was particularly important to me.
I wanted to know exactly where support goes and what it achieves.
Fortunately, I met an impressive woman during my founding phase:
Ms. Glock.
More than 20 years ago, she founded a children's hospital in Bolivia and built up the project Guarayos from it.
To this day, she travels there several times a year, works on site as a pediatrician herself, and ensures that every donation arrives exactly where it is needed.
She personally manages the organization –
and even covers her travel expenses herself.
At that moment, I knew:
This is the right way.
Since then, I have supported the Guarayos project with full conviction.
With every order, I automatically donate €1.
A small contribution –
that together can make a big difference.
